When it comes to coloring thermoset plastics, pigment dispersions are
a design tool that must integrate seamlessly into your formulation. Rebus
custom color solutions add the power of knowledge, the assurance of quality,
and the pride of service to your fabrication process.
ABOUT US
Rebus manufactures a full line of color and additive dispersions –
both paste and liquid – for the thermoset plastics industry and
offers custom tolling services for creating effect chemicals, in addition
to color. Since the company’s beginning in 1992, the Rebus founders
continue to maintain a single vision for the company: focus all technical
and marketing energies on providing custom solutions by combining products
and services to substantially enhance our customers’ products, efficiency,
and sales margin.
CAPABILITIES
Rebus completed its state-of-the-art facility in 1998. This manufacturing
and office complex is located on a three-acre site in Aston, PA in Chester
Township’s Bridgewater Business Park. The building is a single story
40,000 square foot corporate office, technical laboratory, and manufacturing
facility. Situated two miles from Interstate 95, the Rebus facility is
proximate to both Philadelphia International Airport and major truck transport
routes.
To maintain an outstanding reputation with our customers and remain a
market leader, Rebus continually invests in operating assets and infrastructure.
We employ the most up-to-date manufacturing equipment, the latest information
technology, effective process and quality management (such as ISO certification),
and innovative product research and development.
PRODUCTS
Rebus offers a number of standard products, but as the “Color Department
for the Thermoset Plastics Industry,” we can rapidly respond with
custom solutions for unique customer applications.
STANDARD PRODUCTS
Rebus standard line of colors consists of the highest quality pigments
dispersed in a range of vehicles to match your resin system. Single pigment
dispersions range in viscosity from pourable liquids to heavy pastes depending
on the type and amount of pigment used.
FULL STRENGTH MASSTONES
Your plastic can be treated with any of our standard masstones by incorporating
full strength color into your polymer.
TINTS
Rebus can blend any color with the right amount of white to create lighter
shades of a single masstone.
BLENDED COLORS / CUSTOM MATCHES
Rebus color experts can recommend masstone combinations and tint ratios
to achieve your color and are always available to answer your questions.

STANDARD PRODUCT LIST
URETHANE
Rebus System 1000/2000 products provide a full range of polyester and
polyether polyols that support a myriad of applications such as low density
flexible foams, flex-molded and integral-skin composites, two-component
high performance coatings, hot and cold cured elastomers, and other CASE
applications.
POLYESTER
Rebus System 4000, 5000, and 8000 products are urethane polyester, fully
reactive, and monomer-free. They are highly reactive with varying glycol
co-reactants to ensure easy incorporation into matched metal die molding
compounds, pultrusions, continuous laminations, resin transfer systems,
gel coats, and filament windings.
EPOXY
Rebus System 6000 series epoxy products are 100% reactive Bisphenol A
dispersions designed for incorporation in all epoxy resin formulations.
They are ideal for industrial floor coatings, potting and encapsulation
compounds, electrical laminates, aggregate coatings, and CASE formulations.
The 6000 ColorPack product line incorporates rheological modifiers for
uniform viscosity control essential for ease of handling in colder climates.
Our new and innovative 6000 Non-Float dispersions overcome floatation
and flocculation problems ensuring that industrial floor coatings are
truly seamless.
PLASTICIZERS
Rebus System 7000 plasticizers are based on phthalate esters, which are
ideally suited for a variety of flexible vinyl formulations
System 70000 plasticizers are formulated using Benzoflex 9-88 plasticizers,
excellent diluent for many urethane elastomer formulations and ideal for
introducing color into the prepolymer.
OTHER PRODUCTS
Rebus Series 60000 polyamine dispersions are the ideal method for coloring
the resin component in polyureas.
System 80000 color dispersions, based on a 350 centistoke are FDA-approved
silicone fluid and provide excellent compatibility in RTV sealants and
caulks.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
Most of Rebus clients require customized formulations _ pigment/additive
dispersions that have been specifically formulated to meet established
technical criteria such as colormatch, functional chemical content, mixture
of color and functional chemical, organic/inorganic content, or viscosity
control.
COLOR MATCHING
Rebus’ ability to provide custom color solutions is rooted in our
outstanding technical capability. This unique customer-specific orientation
enables us to be the “color department” for each of our clients
by offering solutions not generally available from larger companies.
CUSTOM TOLLING
Rebus staff, equipment, and state-of-the-art facility offer additional
capacity for our customers manufacturing needs. In addition to color solutions,
we can turn granular raw materials into a wet effect chemical for easy
inclusion into your specific formulation.
SALES
MARKETS
Rebus markets include construction, transportation, electrical, electronics,
recreational, furniture, and appliances and our customers are located
throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Color dispersions for
the thermoset urethane (products made primarily from polyol and isocyanates)
market are the majority of output while about one-third of product is
manufactured for the thermoset polyester (primarily unsaturated polyester)
market, also known as fiberglass reinforced plastics. In addition, Rebus
continues to expand its epoxy and polyurea markets by supplying pigments
for a variety of products, most notably industrial flooring and sprayable
polyurea systems.
One of several new product areas for Rebus is the manufacture of dispersions
combining phthalate esters or benzoate esters and pigments to the CASE
(coating, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers) market for end use as plasticizers
for coated fabrics and urethane elastomers.
SALES
Rebus teams sales agents and distributors with our sales engineering and
technical experts to provide the right products and service to each customer.
PACKAGING AND DELIVERY
We offer a variety of packaging options to fit customer requirements.
Standard product orders are shipped within three days of order receipt
and most custom orders can be shipped within five business days of order
receipt.
